RecallCarty.com has organized with the goal of removing Carty Finkbeiner from office. The first step is to collect the 35,000+- signatures needed to place the recall vote on the ballot.
RecallCarty.com is shutting down. While we were unable to collect the required number of signatures, the campaign was successful in a number of respects.
The use of the Internet (and using the web address as the groups name) was very successful. Approximately 400 petitions were downloaded from the site in addition to the thousands that were distributed through conventional channels. The site turned out to be an outstanding way to communicate with our supporters. We were pleased that Campaigns & Elections Magazine selected RecallCarty.com as it's site of the month noting that "RecallCarty.com is an innovative new way of using the Internet for grassroots petitioning."
We developed relationships with a number of groups and individuals that will be invaluable in future activity. |
